Food crisis and shortage of democracy have both relations with each other. If you are going to take a deep look at the reality, lack of democracy is a root of world hunger and vice versa. America has certainly become a fast food nation. Unlike the people from places such as Haiti who do not have the alternatives to choose from as to what to feed their children, but instead must choose which children to feed – we are considered very fortunate. It is true that low income families cannot afford a totally healthy lifestyle. I know that for a fact, I’m a married mother of 2 (3 and 4 year old) and I have to make the choice of eating healthy now and be hungry later or eat unhealthy and pay later with my health and my family’s health. Right now, I’m chosing to get my education so I can help my husband provide the lifestyle that our family deserves. We are doing what we can to make better choices as far as food goes.
